CLUB AND SOCIETIES ONLY PHOTOGRAPHY COMPEITION

For the first time ever OUSA is running a club (and society) only photography competition. Why? We know you do some pretty amazing things and we want to showcase this on campus. So, if you have an epic shot of your members in action we want to hear from you.

Submissions will be open until April 30th. Submissions can be made to michaela@ousa.org.nz

Please include: Your Student ID no./ Contact Phone No./ And titles for images, if any.


Cost:
Free (and restricted to) OUSA affiliated clubs and societies.

Winner: The winning club will receive $200 (via electronic transfer to their bank account)

Terms and Conditions:
You must gain permission to enter your photography from any/all individuals in the photographs
Copyright remains with the author
The photo must be the work of the submitter
Entries are unlimited
Photo’s will be judged anonymously.
The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
Entrants agree to have their images and names published in any OUSA or Otago University publication
OUSA reserves the right to remove any entries from the competition

LASER TAG TOURNAMENT

Do you think you’re the best shooter in all of Dunedin? Do you have the speed, reflexes and accuracy to back it up? Then this tournament may be for you. The 7th OUSA Laser Tag Tournament will see who reigns supreme after four free-for-all matches, and which players are worthy of taking home the gold.

When: May 14th, 2017 [Sunday 5:00 - 6:00pm]

Bring: Comfortable exercise clothing and footwear (closed in) and a drink bottle

Where: Megazone Entertainment Centre, 170 Frederick Street (Corner of Frederick Street and Anzac Avenue). This is only a 5 - 10 minute walk from campus.

Cost:
$0.00 Otago University, Otago Polytech, and Otago Language Students.
This event does not allow staff, alumni or members of the public to participate.
Prize money: $100 first place $50 second place and $25 for third place. Prize money is awarded via electronic transfer and may take up to 2 weeks.

Sick of seeing the same old “selfies” and snap chats? Test your photography repertoire and enter in our photo comp. There is no theme so we will literally except anything (that you would be comfortable also showing your grandma)

PIZZA QUIZ NIGHT

Your mind is made for more than the ODT’s trivia page. “YOU” have true potential for something great. What’s that you might say? OUSA’s quiz night of course. Accompanied by mouth-watering pizza you can’t go wrong.

When: March 20th, 2017 [Monday 7:30 - 9:30pm]

Cost:
$2 per person Otago University, Otago Polytech, and Otago Language Students. Staff, Alumni and the public are not able to participate in this event. Entry is limited to the first 13 teams.
Prize money: $200 first place, $75 second place and $50 third place. Prizes are awarded via electronic transfer. This may take up to two weeks.
Food Facts:
40 pizza’s will be ordered and available in a buffet type style. There will be a few vegetarian and gluten free options. It gets pretty messy so be prepared to roll your sleeves up and stand your ground. Don’t be the guy who takes a whole box of meat lovers—nobody likes this guy.

10 Questions in each round 
Categories will be from all walks of life 

POETRY COMPETITION

Go mad in this semester’s poetry competition. The theme? There is none so the possibilities are endless. Collect you thoughts and get writing.

POKER TOURNAMENT

P-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face. Come along to the campus equivalent of the World Poker Series. Separate the sharks from the fish and win the flat bragging rights.

When (and where): Evison Lounge, Clubs and Societies Centre, 84 Albany Street, Dunedin on May 12th, 2017 Friday 4:30 - 10:15pm]. Your place may be given away if you are late.

Cost:
Free (and restricted to) Otago University, Otago Polytech, and Otago Language Students.

Prize money: $200 first place, $75 second place and $50 third place. Prizes are awarded via electronic transfer. This may take up to two weeks.

Structure:
Starting stack size, levels, blinds and round times are TBA (dependent on registration numbers)  
8 players maximum per table  
Tournament style is no limit freeze out  
The tournament will end at 10:15pm respective of the amount of players still "in". If the winner hasn't been reached organically by this stage placings will be given in accordance with the amount of chips players have.

TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

This is one of our oldest and most enjoyable tournaments. Its super relaxed and a great way to meet fellow students. Newbies, pro’s, amateurs (and the like) are all welcome.

When: April 9th, 2017 [Sunday 1:00 - 5:00pm].

Registration is at 12:55pm if you are late your spot may be given away.

Bring: Comfortable exercise clothing and footwear and a drink bottle. We will supply paddles but you can bring your own if you wish.

Where: 2nd Floor, Unipol, Anzac Avenue, Dunedin

Cost:
Free Otago University, Otago Polytech, and Otago Language Students.

This event does not allow staff, alumni or members of the public to participate.

Prize money: $200 first place $75 second place and $50 for third place. Prize money is awarded via electronic transfer and may take up to 2 weeks.

Structure:
This is a singles tournament. Whether it’s single or double elimination (and the amount of sets per game )will depend on the exact mount of people who show up on the day.
