PRESIDENTS BUSINESS



Craft Beer & Food Festival
- Debbie informed the meeting they don’t have the bottom line figure yet but she is confident OUSA should make a profit. Over 5,000 in attendance,
including almost 1,000 student tickets. 113 short of selling out.



The feedback was positive. The bigger clients were happy with the event and indicated this would flow onto them booking a site at tent city.



There was no poor behaviour.



Debbie said the staff and volunteers managed the event well.

– Debbie reported we are seeking advice from the University and hopefully will be able to piggy back on their systems.



There are new laws, but they won’t be passed until next year.

– planning underway and things are coming along.






EXECUTIVE THIRD QUARTER REPORT



Payal was invited to speak to her report. She said she is working on a hand over document for the 2016 Welfare Officer.

Revision to the budget document distributed – the BeerFest is not in the KPI’s although it is fiscally neutral and doesn’t affect this document.



Debbie will revise the full budget document with this information included and distribute.

– close to 100 university papers



Have been removed from a room in the Registry building. The police are



Investigating. Paul Hunt and Vernon Squire met prior to this meeting and Paul said some Dentistry students have resat their exam already. Other students
can choose to re-sit or their internal assessment marks.

University Council seat amendment bill
– Paul circulated information to the executive months ago for feedback. He suggests there should be a second student and academic guaranteed in the bill.
The meeting agreed Paul should draft a memo to this effect on behalf of OUSA.



Clubs Review work
– Debbie, Matt, Isaac and Nina will work on this.



GENERAL BUSINESS



Special consideration for examination
– OUSA has looked into this system in the



past and believe it requires more work to assist students.



The Welfare Officer is leaving Dunedin on 12 November. She will return to help with



Christmas packs for students. She is contactable via cell phone.
