PROPOSED STRATEGY FOR 2017 NATIONAL ELECTIONS
As emailed from NZUSA – Their aim:-
This Election, we need to shift the power back to students and young people.
The only way to do this is to get out the vote. We’re proposing a nationally-coordinated, locally-run election campaign with the aim of getting every single student in New Zealand to vote.
Their Objectives:-
1. All students can vote on campus
2. All students interact with the campaign 3 times
3. Any student who wants to volunteer can
4. We talk about the issues that matter to students
5. All students know how to vote
6. All students know their vote has value
Hugh and Eden attended the NZUSA conference last week and Eden is going to lead the Otago campaign.
The Executive would like a copy of their budget and what OUSA is expected to cover?
Hugh advised that Winston Peters is speaking on campus on 24 May at 1pm.
It was also suggested that a debate could be held on campus with different political parties to promote the elections.
