MC & Events Assistant

The Otago University Students Association (OUSA) delivers a varied range of events focused on providing a unique campus experience for all students as well as building a strong connection between students and the city.
 
Thursdays at Evison Lounge at Clubs & Socs offer free events for the students that have a focus on being alcohol-free and offer a safe and inclusive environment for which students can attend, socialize and support in the comfort of the Evison Lounge. Events held, range from open mic/live music nights, quiz nights, film nights and board game evenings.
 
This is a casual position that will provide assistance to the Clubs & Socs team to ensure the coordination and delivery of the Thursdays at Evison Programme.
Duties include:
• MCing the events
• General event coordination
• Working to comprehensive event run sheets and schedules
• Assist with the set-up and pack-down of events
Thursdays at Evison run most Thursdays throughout semester two 7pm – 9pm
 
About you:
• A current student working towards a tertiary qualification
• Passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment
• Have had previous MC experience or is confident talking to crowds
• Experience covering the majority of the duties listed (via paid or volunteer work)
